Due to mismanagement and bad business on the part of Warehouse Live the Space City Beat Battle Championship has been moved to the Mercury Room, downtown at 1004 Prairie at Main.

Houston,TX- Saturday January 21st marks the Championship and fifth episode of the Space City Beat Battle™.  Space City Beat Battle is the premiere music production competition in Houston,TX and is the brainchild of producers Ryan “Jett I Masstyr” Rayford, Oscar “Black Rose” Ramirez, and media maven Trevor Piper.  Local beat makers trade sonic jousts to be crowned the champion and labeled the top producer in Space City.

Seagram’s 2010 Master of the Mix winner and seminal hip-hop DJ/Producer DJ Scratch will serve as the special guest judge. DJ Scratch is a Grammy nominated, multi-platinum producer with credits from the likes of EPMD, Jay-Z, Method Man and  Busta Rhymes. Also serving as a guest judge is Texas rap legend DJ DMD, most famous for his hip-hop classic “25 Lighters”.

Built Like Alaska have released their third album: In Troubled Times. The California-based folk/pop band took six years to make theis album. The least you could do is have the decency to listen to it.
